This kit makes the internal working of a computer's RAM accessible to students. The RAM module consists of 16 rows of 4 bit that are individually accessible. By setting an address through a variable, students can access individual rows of data. By pressing a button, students can program binary data directly into the RAM module. The Computer Memory Kit can be operated stand-alone, or it can be used to replace the Data RAM from the B4 Computer Processor Kit to gain a yet deeper understaning of the flow of information in a computer.
The B4 Computer Memory Kit has 101 LEDs, dials and buttons to make working with it an interactive experience for students and teachers.
Students gain an understanding of the practical working of computer memory concepts and learn about them from a hardware and a software perspective. The result is a deeper and more natural understanding of Digital Technologies.
This kit has been designed with the new Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies in mind.
